Eyes
of Desire : A Deaf Gay & Lesbian Reader by
Raymond Luczak (Editor)
In
a collection of essays, deaf lesbians and gay men discuss their
lives, describing how they discovered their sexual identity,
overcame barriers to communication in a hearing world, and created
a deaf gay and lesbian culture. Original.
"Found this book on accident looking for a
birthday present for a friend, who happens to be a Deaf lesbian!
This turned out to be a great find, a really interesting book,
& some insight for hearing people, gay or straight, into Deaf
life & culture! A great book!" -- Kimberleigh Kopacki

FLASH is a free electronic 'zine published by CTN
Magazine, the national magazine for Deaf Lesbians, Gays and
Bisexuals.
Since CTN Magazine is published only three times
a year, we came up with the idea of publishing FLASH as a way to
get information out to the Deaf Queer Community as quickly as
possible. FLASH consists mostly of general lesbigay action alerts,
event announcements, news briefs and other information of interest
that we are usually unable to include in our printed magazine.
While FLASH isn't the same thing as CTN Magazine
(a 36-page printed glossy), it is still an invaluable resource
whether or not you subscribe to our magazine. And best of all,
it's absolutely FREE!

The Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf (RAD) is a
non-profit organization established in 1977. The purpose of this
Alliance is to establish and maintain a society of Deaf Gays and
Lesbians to encourage and promote the educational, economical, and
social welfare; to foster fellowship; to defend our rights; and
advance our interests as Deaf Gay and Lesbian citizens concerning
social justice; to build up an organization in which all worthy
members may participate in the discussion of practical problems
and solutions related to their social welfare. RAD has over twenty
chapters in the United States and Canada.
Deaf GLOW / RER
The Deaf Gays/Lesbians of the West (Deaf GLOW) is run by local
chapters in the western states of the Mississippi River. For local
chapters in Canada, the province line of Ontario and Manitoba
divides it.
Rainbow Eastern Region (RER) is an organization that serves the
Deaf GLBT in the United States of America and its commonwealths
east of the Mississippi River, American states along the
Mississippi River, and Canadian provinces east of Manitoba.
RER is not run by chapters, which will be vague and insinuate that
RER is run or an organization of the Alliance.
Both Deaf GLOW and RER hold biennial conferences
on the even number years (RAD conventions are held on odd numbered
years).
