Boy Meets Boy by Lawrence Schimel
(Editor), Dean Durber (Contributor)
From the dates-from-hell to love-at-first-sight,
Boy Meets Boy is the ultimate rumination about romance,
dating, and/or sex for the modern gay man. This collection of
observations, anecdotes, essays, wishful thinking, and out-and-out
lies celebrate and bemoan every experience that collective comprise
that mixed blessing called "dating". Ranging in tone from cute and
romantic to bitchy and hilarious, with contributions from Matthew Rettenmund, Barry Lowe, Michael Lassell, D. Travers Scott, David
Feinberg, Kerry Bashford, Barry Lowe, and Larry Duplechan, Boy
Meets Boy is touching, amusing, heartwarming, and laugh out loud
funny as is memorializes (and viciously mocks) the absurd
situations, embarrassing moments, and the (all too rare) limerance
that occurs when...well...Boy Meets Boy.
This anthology includes "Sibling Rivalry" by Dean
Durber

Current Projects
I am currently working on my doctorate exploring
the construction of the homosexual as an oppressor of non-normalised
homosexual sex. I am also interested in the social control
of sexual activity through the demand for confessional debate.
Beyond sex, I am also working on theories
relating to the conflict between the ideals and practices of
"Generation X".
In my fiction work, I am awaiting publication of
my first novel, Johnny, Come Home; I am working on a second
novel and a collection of short stories exploring forbidden
desires.
